Naturalezas muertas // Still lifes (Toni Catany)

Toni Catany (Llucmajor, Mallorca, 1942) es el fotógrafo que da referencia al genero de la naturaleza muerta y al tratamiento del color en la fotografía. Fue Premio Nacional de Fotografía en 2001 y ese mismo año, se le otorga el “Premio Nacional dArts Plastiques de la Generalitat de Catalunya”. Ha obtenido otros galardones entre los que cabe destacar el de mejor libro fotográfico en la Primavera Fotográfica de 1988 por su libro Natures Mortes.

En las naturalezas muertas o bodegones, en los paisajes, Toni Catany propone la unidad de las cosas, ese tiempo que ha transcurrido y ha dejado la huella de la inmortalidad.
A las flores que posan en sus fotos, no se les caen los pétalos, porque saben que aun estando muertas, su belleza perdura en el tiempo inenarrable de la fotografía.
Toni Catany lleva el tiempo de la fotografía en su obra, primero con los calotipos, y más tarde el color crea un espacio privado, que se convierte en su jardín interior pues nadie como el ha sabido transmitir las sensaciones, las sustancias de las cosas y su naturaleza, que en definitiva es el color que percibimos.
