Es posible que si nadie hubiese inventado el espejo, no fuésemos tan conscientes del paso del tiempo. Estamos tan acostumbrados a ver nuestro reflejo cada día que a veces no somos conscientes de que ese mismo reflejo no es el mismo que el de hace unas semanas, o unos meses, o unos años… hasta que un día, de repente, nos detenemos más tiempo de la cuenta ante ese otro yo del otro lado del espejo y, entonces, recordamos.
En esta serie “Reflections”, del fotógrafo americano Tom Hussey, la juventud perdida se muestra irónica en el propio reflejo de la realidad. Algunas de estas fotografías fueron utilizadas en una campaña contra el Alzheimer, no es de extrañar, ya que entra en juego todo lo que esa enfermedad ataca: la memoria, el pasado y sobre todo, el presente.

It is possible that if anyone had invented the mirror, we were not so aware of the passage of time. We are so used to seeing our reflection every day that sometimes we are not aware that this same reflex is not the same as the last few weeks, or months, or years … until one day, suddenly, we stop more time in front of that other self of the other side of the mirror and then remember.
