Muchas veces, fotógrafos que estaban empezando me han preguntado qué consejos podría darles. Aquí teneis algunos que podrían ser un buen comienzo:

CURIOSIDAD INSACIABLE: Ser un curioso sobre la vida y las cosas que te rodean es una de las partes más esenciales para ser un buen fotógrafo.

TRABAJO DURO: Toda profesión requiere un compromiso serio, esfuerzo y trabajar duro. Plantéatelo, si no estás dispuesto a ello, será mejor que no lo intentes.

SALIR DE CASA: Ser un buen fotógrafo no significa tener que salir obligatoriamente a los lugares más exóticos, pero lo realmente necesario es romper los límites de nuestra “zona de confort”, superarlos y explorar en sus márgenes.

FORTALEZA Y DETERMINACION: Habrá muchas veces que, como en cualquier otra profesión, te tengas que enfrentar a trabajo tedioso (trabajo de pico y pala). Otra vez más, tendrás que plantearte si estás dispuesto a enfrentarte a estos momentos y trabajar duro durante ellos.

CARRERA DE FONDO: El proceso de aprendizaje es algo constante que nunca se detiene. Sin embargo, a partir de un punto, comienza a hacerse de modo cada vez más mecánico. Si te fijas en el trabajo de los fotógrafos que admiras, verás que han encontrado un lugar determinado, o un tema, y han trabajado profundamente en ello. Para eso se necesita mucha dedicación, pasión y trabajo.

PROGRESA, REINVENTATE, CRECE: Necesitas mantener tu corazón y tu mente abierta. La vida fluye por delante de tus ojos, tendrás que estar preparado para saber responder, dejarte tocar por las cosas realmente extraordinarias y permitir que estas te cambien.

NO ESPERES A QUE SUENE EL TELEFONO: Independientemente del éxito que tengas, es muy importante que inviertas tu tiempo en fotografiar aquello que te interesa. Es necesario que comprendas aquellas cosas que realmente tienen significado para ti y no lo que otros piensen que debes fotografiar. No esperes por los demás para que te den una oportunidad, fuerza tu situación, da tu el primer paso. Insistencia. No esperes a que suene el teléfono, levanta el auricular y llama.

Often photographers were beginning have asked me what advice I could give. Here you have some that could be a good start:

INSATIABLE CURIOSITY: Being a curious about life and things around you is one of the most essential parts of being a good photographer.

HARD WORK: Every profession requires a serious commitment, effort and hard work. Conceive it to yourself, if you aren’t willing, you better not try.

LEAVING HOME: Being a good photographer is not necessarily having to go to exotic places, but what we really need is to break the boundaries of our comfort zone, overcome them and explore its margins.

STRENGTH AND DETERMINATION: There will be many times that, like in any other profession, you have to face a tedious job (pick and shovel work.) Once again, you have to ask yourself if you’re willing to take on right now and work hard for them.
