Si ganan, mueren // If they win they die

“A monument recalls in Ukraine, the players of Dynamo Kiev, 1942. At the height of German occupation, they committed the folly of defeating Hitler selected at the local stadium. They had been warned:
– If they win they die.

They entered resigned to losing, trembling with fear and hunger, but could not resist the urge to be worthy. The eleven were shot with the shirts on, on top of a cliff, when they finished the game. ”
